New York Yankees Form
New York entered this series with some momentum, having won nine of their previous 12 games and each of the last five.
The Yankees lost five games in a row at the start of August, before finally getting back in the win column with a 3-2 victory in Texas.
They struggled against Houston, sandwiching a 5-4 loss with 5-3 and 7-1 wins, but rallied against Minnesota as they beat the Twins 6-2 and 9-1 at home.
New York lost the last game of the series with the Twins, 4-1, only to rally and spark a five-game win streak with 4-3, 12-8 and 8-4 victories in St Louis.
The Yankees then headed to Tampa where they swept the Rays in a two-game series, winning 13-3 and 6-4.
Verdict
Boston got back on track with last night’s morale-boosting win, and we expect them to back it up.
