The Dodgers took the first two meetings with the Diamondbacks in Arizona, 10-9 and 8-6, and then rebounded from a 14-3 defeat with an 11-6 success in the series finale.

Los Angeles come into this series in improved form, having won three of their previous four games.
The Angels ended August on a miserable run of form as they failed to build on a 9-5 victory at Kansas City.

Los Angeles were then beaten 6-2 and 3-2 in Detroit, before finally ending their skid with a 3-2 victory over the Tigers.
