Philadelphia go into tonight's game in desperate need of a victory following back-to-back defeats to New York.
The Phillies opened their postseason campaign with a 6-2 loss to the Mets, and then failed to build on a 7-6 victory as they were beaten 7-2 in Game 3 to leave themselves on the brink of elimination.
They booked their place in the playoffs by putting together a 95-67 record to finish top of the National League West.
Philadelphia’s 95 victories was the second best total in the regular season, just three behind the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Phillies missed out on a 100-win regular season campaign as they lost five of their final eight games.
New York Mets Form
New York have an opportunity to clinch the series tonight after bouncing back from their Game 2 defeat at the first attempt.
The Mets drew first blood as they took the series-opener 6-2, and then responded to a 7-6 defeat with a 7-2 victory at home that has left them one win away from advancing.
They earned their place in the playoffs by compiling an 89-73 record to finish second in the National League East standings.

Verdict
New York continue to rack up wins at home and Jose Quintana gets the start having helped take down Milwaukee in the previous round.
This all makes the Mets an appealing underdog as they try to clinch ther series in Game 4.
