Hernandez joined the UFC after an appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series, but got off to a rough start as he lost two of his first three fights.

He has not lost since the first-round TKO loss to Kevin Holland however, embarking on a five-fight win streak.

The 30-year-old Californian started this run with a second-round submission of Rodolfo Vieira, which was followed by a points win over Josh Fremd.

Hernandez then submitted Marc-Andre Barriault in the third round, before tapping out Edmen Shahbazyan in the third round of his only outing in 2023.

He has fought once in 2024 already, submitting Roman Kopylov in the second round of their contest back in February.

The second of those defeats was a disqualification loss to Diego Sanchez in February 2020, but since that night he has won eight straight.

The 31-year-old Brazilian started this streak with a submission win over Zelim Imadaev, which was followed by unanimous decision victories against Khaos Williams, Niko Price and Andre Fialho.

Pereira then edged Santiago Ponzinibbio by split decision, before making the move up to middleweight where he has been on a tear.

He knocked out Andre Petroski in 66 seconds in his debut at 185lbs, before tapping out Michal Oleksiejczuk in 61 seconds and Ihor Potieria in 54 seconds.
