The move down to featherweight has agreed with UFC veteran Edson Barboza.
The 35-year-old Brazilian dropped down from 155lb after losing four times in five fights, but he came up short on his debut.
Barboza’s first outing in his new weight class saw him lose a split decision to Dan Ige.
He bounced back though to beat Makwan Amirkhani via decision and get his first featherweight win on the board in October of last year.
Barboza then backed that up with an impressive third-round knockout of top-15 ranked Shane Burgos in May.
He now holds a professional MMA record of 22 wins and nine defeats. 13 of his wins have come via knockout, with one by submission.
Of his nine defeats he has been knocked out three times and submitted twice. He is yet to be stopped at featherweight though.
Giga Chikadze Form
Giga Chikadze is a rising star in the featherweight division having won six straight fights since signing with the UFC.
He began his UFC career with split decision wins of Brandon Davis and Jamall Emmers.
The 32-year-old then had all three judges on his side as bested Irwin Rivera and Omar Morales over three rounds.
A first stoppage win followed in November of last year when he knocked out Jamey Simmons in round one.
Chikadze then recorded the biggest win of his career by stopping veteran Cub Swanson in 63 seconds in May.
Chikadze has a 13-2 professional record with eight knockout wins and one submission win. He has never been knocked out but he has been submitted once.
