The Celtics hosted Philadelphia on Tuesday night, and came up short as they were beaten 117-116 by the 76ers.
They had gone into that game on the back of a pre-season campaign that saw them win three of their four games.
Boston opened with back-to-back road games, and failed to build on a 121-103 win in Memphis as they lost 107-105 at Toronto.
The Celtics rebounded on their home court however, as they backed up a 138-107 win over Cleveland with a 110-108 victory against Toronto.

New York enter this matchup looking to maintain their unbeaten record, having opened the season with a victory.
The Knicks tipped off the campaign at home to Cleveland on Tuesday, and despite being a home underdog they downed the Cavaliers 119-111.
That victory continue a solid run of form from pre-season that saw them win four of their five games.
New York began their pre-season slate with back-to-back victories over Philadelphia, winning 99-84 and 113-104.
The Knicks then beat Minnesota 100-95 in overtime, before rebounding from a 120-103 loss to Washington with a 113-108 victory against Charlotte.
Verdict
New York ousted Boston in the playoffs last season, and we expect them to beat the Celtics again tonight.
