Cleveland won just one of their four games during the pre-season, which opened with back-to-back losses against Chicago, 118-117 at home and 119-112 on the road.
The Cavaliers then fell 138-107 in Boston, before avoiding a winless pre-season with a 118-100 victory at home to Detroit.
New York Knicks Form
New York go into their season opener looking to hand new head coach Mike Brown a winning debut.
The Knicks made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals last season, where the lost in six games to Indiana.
Despite that deep playoff run they fired head coach Tom Thibodeau in the offseason, replacing him with Brown.
New York went 4-1 in pre-season under their new head coach; kicking things off with back-to-back wins over Philadelphia, 99-84 and 113-104.
The Knicks then beat Minnesota in overtime, 100-95, before rebounding from a 120-103 loss to Washington with a 113-108 victory over Charlotte.
Verdict
Cleveland return with a roster capable of going all the way and winning the NBA championship.
