Dallas go into Game 2 of the NBA Finals looking to avenge the heavy defeat they suffered in the series opener.
The Mavericks were beaten 107-89 in Boston on Thursday night, and they will be keen to knot up the series before they return home for Game 3.
The defeat was their sixth during a playoff run that has seen them eliminate the LA Clippers, Oklahoma City and Minnesota.
Dallas, who went 50-32 during the regular season, made a losing start to the playoffs as they were beaten 109-97 by the Clippers in Los Angeles.
The Mavericks bounced back to win four of the next five games though, setting up a second-round series with Oklahoma City.
They split the first four games of the series with the Thunder, but took control with a 104-92 win on the road, and then clinched with a 117-116 victory at home.
Dallas then made comfortable work of the Western Conference Finals, beating Minnesota in five games.
The Mavericks raced out to a 3-0 series lead, before responding to a 105-100 defeat with a series-clinching 124-103 success on the road.
Boston Celtics Form
Boston go into the second game of this series looking to double their lead before they head out on the road.
The Celtics produced a dominant display in Game 1 as they downed Dallas 107-89 at the TD Garden.
That victory continued a strong postseason run that has seen them win 13 of their 15 games, and each of the last eight.
Boston compiled a league-best 64-18 record during the regular season, only to stumble early in the postseason as they split their first two games with Miami.
The Celtics’ response was an emphatic one though, as they recorded back-to-back blowout wins on the road, before returning home to seal the series with a 118-84 victory.
That pattern repeated itself in the second round as they took five games to dispatch Cleveland.
Boston split the first two games with the Cavaliers, but again responded to a Game 2 defeat with three consecutive victories, reeling off 106-93, 109-102 and 113-98 victories to advance.
There would be no repeat in the Eastern Conference Finals however, as they swept Indiana with 133-128 (OT), 126-110, 114-111 and 105-102 wins.
Verdict
Boston dominated in the regular season and they have been dominating in the playoffs too.
The Celtics continue to turn shoot the ball both effectively and efficiently, and defensively they have been able to stifle opponents throughout the playoffs.
