Dallas come into this matchup on a miserable run of form, having lost 15 of their last 17 games and each of the previous five.
The Mavericks enjoyed a season-best run in the middle of January as they won four consecutive games, but the wheels have come off since then.
That win streak was ended by a 116-110 defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers, and that proved to be the start of a nine-game losing skid that took them into the All-Star break.
Dallas’ skid reached 10 games when they returned to action with a 122-111 loss in Minnesota, but they did finally stop the rot on the road as they won 134-130 at Indiana and 123-114 in Brooklyn.
The Mavericks have not won since though, losing at home to Sacramento, 130-121, Memphis, 124-105, and Oklahoma City, 100-87, before heading out on the road to fall 117-90 in Charlotte and 115-114 in Orlando.

Boston enter this matchup on the back of a loss, but in good form with 12 wins in their previous 15 games.
The Celtics began this good run with a five-game win streak between late January and early February, which was eventually ended by a 111-89 loss to New York.
They responded emphatically though, backing up a 124-105 win at home to Chicago with road successes at Golden State 121-110, the Los Angeles Lakers 111-89 and Phoenix 97-81.
Boston failed to make it five-in-a-row as they lost 103-84 in Denver, but they rebounded at home to blow out Brooklyn, 148-111, and down Philadelphia, 114-98.
The Celtics made it three-in-a-row with a 108-81 success in Milwaukee, only to suffer a 108-81 defeat when they hosted Charlotte on Wednesday night.
Verdict
This is a lot of points, but Boston have routinely delivered as a double digit favorite since December.
