Los Angeles head to Denver on an improved run of form, having answered a three-game losing skid with a three-game win streak.
The Lakers returned from the All-Star break with a 125-122 victory over the LA Clippers, but failed to build on that as they dropped their next three.
They were beaten 111-89 by Boston and 110-109 by Orlando at home, before heading out on the road for a 113-110 loss in Phoenix.
Los Angeles stopped the rot in the Bay Area as they took down Golden State, 129-101, and they were able to back that up at home.
The Lakers ended last week with a 128-104 blowout of Sacramento, and then began this week with a 110-101 success against New Orleans.
Denver Nuggets Form
Denver come into this game on an underwhelming run, having not recorded back-to-back wins since late January and having lost eight of their 13 games since the start of February.
The Nuggets lost three straight to start last month, falling 121-111 to Oklahoma City, 124-121 to Detroit and 134-127 to New York, before failing to back up a 136-120 win in Chicago as they lost 119-117 to Cleveland.
They answered with a 122-116 win against Memphis, and then rebounded from a 115-114 loss at the LA Clippers with a 157-103 demolition of the Trail Blazers in Portland.
Denver again failed to build on a win, losing 127-117 at Golden State, and then dropped back-to-back games after a 103-84 win over Boston, losing 127-121 to Oklahoma City and 117-108 to Minnesota.
The Nuggets did avoid a third straight defeat however, as they beat Utah 128-125 on the road on Monday.
Verdict
Denver’s recent form does not inspire a huge amount of confidence, but Los Angeles’ recent record as an underdog makes for ugly reading.
