The Mavericks began this sequence with a run of three consecutive home defeats, as they fell 116-114 to Milwaukee, 123-114 to Phoenix and 133-127 to the LA Clippers in overtime.
They snapped that skid with a 138-133 overtime victory against Portland, but their joy was short-lived as they then lost 120-96 at Minnesota and 113-111 at home to New York.
Dallas rallied with a 118-115 win over New Orleans, but once again they were unable to string together wins for the first time this season.
The Mavericks were beaten 102-96 at home by Memphis, before heading to Miami for a 106-102 defeat to the Heat.
Los Angeles Lakers Form
Los Angeles come into this matchup on a fantastic run of form, having won each of their last five games and 13 of their first 17 games of the season.
The Lakers’ worst sequence of the campaign so far was when they sandwiched a 121-111 win in Charlotte with road defeats to Atlanta, 122-102, and Oklahoma City, 121-91.
They rebounded from that defeat to the Thunder with a 118-104 win in New Orleans, and backed that up by beating the Bucks 119-95 in Milwaukee.
Los Angeles then won back-to-back meetings with Utah, beating the Jazz 140-126 at home and 108-106 on the road.
The Lakers made it five-in-a-row earlier this week as they took down the Clippers, winning the ‘Battle of Los Angeles’ 135-118.

Los Angeles are simply the better team in better form heading into tonight’s matchup.
