Denver Nuggets Form

Denver go into their second road game of the series with the opportunity to take full control ahead of their return home.

The Nuggets made a dream start to this conference semi-final on Monday, as they won 121-119 at Oklahoma City to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

They earned their spot in the postseason with a 50-32 record, and got off to a winning start as they beat the LA Clippers at home, 112-110 in overtime.

Denver dropped the next two, losing 105-102 at home and 117-83 on the road, before rebounding with a 101-99 road win and a 131-115 home success to regain the series lead.

The Nuggets failed to clinch on the road, losing 111-105, but they hit back to take Game 7 at home, 120-101.

Oklahoma City Thunder Form

Oklahoma City enter this matchup knowing that they cannot afford to drop back-to-back home games before heading to Denver.

The Thunder had a rough night in Game 1, blowing a late opportunity to wrap it up as they were beaten 121-119 by Denver.

They set the standard during the regular season as they put together a league-best a 68-14 record to finish top of the Western Conference.

That dominance continued as Oklahoma City swept Memphis in the first round of the postseason, starting with 131-80 and 118-99 home wins.

The Thunder then went out on the road to win back-to-back games at the FedEx Forum, beating the Grizzlies 114-108 and 117-115.

Verdict

Oklahoma City stumbled late in the opening game, but we are expecting a response.

This is still a team that does its best work on the home court and they do boast multiple double digit wins over Denver in recent times.
