Detroit are tipped to cover the spread as they get the job done in Denver.

The Pistons are coming off a dominant win that extended their good recent form, and they can take advantage of a short-handed Nuggets team missing some key talent, including Nikola Jokic.

Detroit head to Denver having made a strong start to 2026, winning eight of their first 11 games of the year.

The Pistons kicked off 2026 with a 118-112 home defeat to Miami on New Year’s Day, but they responded immediately with a 114-110 win in Cleveland.

That proved to be the start of a three-game run that saw them beat New York 121-90 and Chicago 108-93, before the LA Clippers arrived in the ‘Motor City’ and beat them 98-92.

Detroit again responded strongly to a loss, beating Phoenix 108-105, Indiana 121-78 and Boston 104-103 at home, and New Orleans 112-104 on the road.

The Piston’s win streak was halted by a 111-104 loss to Houston, but they bounced back on Sunday as the blew out Sacramento, 139-116.

Denver Nuggets Form

Denver return home on the back of a couple of road victories, meaning they have now won eight of their last 11 games.

The Nuggets began 2026 with back-to-back losses, but rebounded on the road as they downed Philadelphia 125-124 in overtime and Boston 114-110 in regulation.

They then responded to a 110-87 home loss to Atlanta with four consecutive wins, beating Milwaukee 108-104, New Orleans 122-116, Dallas 118-109 and Washington 121-115.

Denver’s run was ended by a 110-87 home defeat to Charlotte, and that was followed by a 115-107 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Nuggets rallied on the road though, backing up a 107-97 victory in Washington with a 102-100 success at Milwaukee.

Verdict

Denver have done a decent job recently, despite dealing with a bunch of injuries.

Detroit are on a roll however, and they have been solid on the road, so we are backing the Pistons’ to leave with the victory and a cover.
