The Lakers then turned their attention to the NBA Cup, beating Phoenix 106-103 in the semi-finals before blowing out New Orleans in the final, 133-89.

Dallas enter this matchup on the back of a three straight wins that have improved their record to 14-8.
The Mavericks struggled during the second half of November, losing four of their final six games of the month.
They started December with a couple of defeats too, falling to a 108-94 defeat to Memphis and a 126-120 loss to Oklahoma City at home.
Dallas were able to stop the rot when Utah came to town though, and they did it in emphatic fashion with a 147-97 victory.
The Mavericks then backed that up on the road as they travelled to Portland to down the Trail Blazers 125-112, and then headed to Memphis to down the Grizzlies, 120-113.
