Minnesota head to Dallas on the back of a defeat that ended their six game win streak.

The Timberwolves have made a superb start to the season to lead the way in the Western Conference with a 17-5 record.

They ended November with a run of three straight wins as they beat Memphis 119-97 on the road, before returning home to down Oklahoma City 106-103 and Utah 101-90.

Minnesota kept that run going in the early stages of December too as they sandwiched a 102-94 home win against San Antonio with road wins in Charlotte, 123-117, and Memphis, 127-103.

The Timberwolves failed to make it seven wins in a row though, as they were beaten 121-107 in New Orleans on Monday night.

Dallas Mavericks Form

Dallas come into this matchup on a four-game win streak that has improved their record to 14-8.

The Mavericks stumbled in the second half of November as they suffered four defeats in a seven-game spell.

They then started December with back-to-back defeats at home, losing 108-94 to Memphis and 126-120 to Oklahoma City, but they have got back on track since then.

Dallas got back to winning ways at the expense of Utah, as they beat the Jazz 147-97 at home.

The Mavericks then went back out on the road to win 125-112 in Portland and 120-113 in Memphis, before returning home to down the Los Angeles Lakers, 127-125.
