They rebounded with a dominant 100-63 win against Italy in the quarter-finals, but their World Cup quest was brought to a shocking end in the semi-finals as they were beaten 113-111 by Germany.

Canada had to settle for a place in the third place playoff after losing for the second time at the FIBA World Cup.
The Canadians made an early splash when they won 85-65 against a France team who were considered second favorites coming into the tournament.
They followed up that victory with a 128-73 blowout of Lebanon, and the completed a flawless first round with a 101-75 demolition of Latvia.
Canada’s win streak was halted by a 69-65 loss to Brazil, but they bounced back immediately with an 88-85 victory over Spain.
The Canadians then downed Slovenia 100-90 in the quarter-finals, only to lose 95-86 to Serbia in the semi-finals.
Verdict
The United States are the better team, but Canada may have more motivation as they look to at least sign off with an upset of their biggest rivals.
