The Spartans bounced back from a loss at Morgan State to win their final three home games and finish the regular season 12-2.
Their final two wins saw them blowout North Carolina Central and Howard in emphatic fashion.
In the conference tournament they booked their place in the final by following up a 74-66 win over Delaware State with a 72-63 success against Morgan State.
Norfolk State then claimed the tournament title by cruising past Coppin State, 72-57, in the final.
