They got off the mark a week later with a 73-0 shutout of UL-Monroe, and backed that up with a 38-13 win over Wisconsin before kicking off their conference schedule.
Alabama began their SEC schedule in impressive fashion as they took down fifth-ranked Georgia on the road, 24-21, and they then avenged last season’s loss to Vanderbilt with a 30-14 victory.
The Crimson Tide edged Missouri on the road after that, 27-24, before returning home for a big 37-20 win over Tennessee last weekend that fired them back into the top five.
South Carolina Form
South Carolina go into this game having made a miserable start to their SEC schedule, losing four of their first five conference games.
The Gamecocks kicked off with back-to-back non-conference games and won both of them, beating Virginia Tech 24-11 and South Carolina State 38-10.
They failed to keep that run going in their conference opener though, as they were beaten 31-7 at home by Vanderbilt.
South Carolina then fell 29-20 at Missouri, before finally recording their first SEC success with a 35-13 win over Kentucky.
The Gamecocks were unable to build on that victory though, as they were beaten 20-10 at LSU before losing 26-7 at home to Oklahoma.
