They backed that up in their home opener as they blew out Ball State, 42-3, to earn a place in AP’s top 25 rankings.
Auburn maintained that position the following weekend as they again stepped out on the home turf to beat South Alabama, 31-15.
However, the Tigers’ stay in AP’s top 25 was brought to an end last weekend, as they kicked off their SEC campaign with a 24-17 defeat at Oklahoma.

Texas A&M return home looking to back up last weekend’s upset of Notre Dame, which took their unbeaten start to three games.
The Aggies saw their 2024 season go off the rails late on as they lost their final three SEC games to miss out on the conference championship and the playoffs, but they have found some form early in 2025.
They kicked off the campaign with back-to-back home games against lesser opposition, and took advantage with a couple of victories.
Texas A&M opened with a 42-24 victory over UTSA, and then followed that up by beating Utah State 41-22 a week later.
The Aggies then made it three-in-a-row in their road opener, as they edged a thrilling shootout with top-10 ranked Notre Dame, 41-40.
Verdict
These two offenses went at it on the scoreboard last year, and we expect a repeat scene here.
