Georgia at Tennessee Preview & Picks

Georgia are tipped to continue their recent dominance of Tennessee.

The Volunteers offense has been red-hot through two games, but the Bulldogs’ defense remains an elite unit and Kirby Smart always seems to have the answers against the Vols.

  • Georgia have won each of the last 8 meetings with Tennessee
  • Georgia’s average win margin during this 8-game streak is 22.1 points per game
  • Georgia are 8-1-0 ATS in the previous 9 games against Tennessee
  • The Over has cashed in 4 of the previous 6 meetings

Head To Head

  • Georgia lead the all-time series 29-23-2
  • Georgia won 31-17 when the two teams last met in November 2024

Georgia Form

Georgia head out on the road for their opening conference game boasting a perfect 2-0 record.

The Bulldogs’ quest for another national championship came up short last year, but they remain a leading contender in the early stages of the campaign.

They kicked off the campaign with back-to-back non-conference games at home, and gave up just 13 total points across two wins.

Georgia opened up with a 45-7 demolition of Marshall, before seeing off Austin Peay with an underwhelming 28-6 victory that cost them a couple of spots in the rankings.

The Bulldogs now head to Tennessee having won in each of their last four visits to Neyland Stadium.

Tennessee Form

Tennessee entered the 2025 season looking to rebound from a 2024 campaign that saw them fall at the first hurdle in the expanded playoffs.

The Volunteers lost a couple of conference games to miss out on the SEC Championship Game, and then fell 42-17 to Ohio State in the postseason.

They have got off to the perfect start this season though, albeit against non-conference opposition.

Tennessee opened up the campaign by heading to Atlanta for a meeting with Syracuse, and it proved to be a successful trip as they returned home with a 45-26 victory.

The Volunteers then backed that up in their home opener as they put up over 70 points in a 72-17 demolition of East Tennessee State.

Verdict

Tennessee’s offense is firing, but this Georgia defense is a big step up in quality.

Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs have repeatedly put together the right gameplan to slow down the Vols in recent seasons, and until that trend changes we will stick with the Dawgs.
