Sam Houston head to Texas still seeking their first win of the season, having lost their first three games.
The Bearkats enjoyed a successful 2024 season that saw them go 10-3 and beat Georgia Southern in the New Orleans Bowl.
However, just three weeks into the 2025 campaign they have already lost as many games as they did a year ago.
Sam Houston kicked off the season with a 41-24 defeat at Western Kentucky, and then dropped their home opener to UNLV, 38-21.
That became three straight defeats for the Bearkats last weekend, as they were beaten 37-20 at Hawaii.

Texas go into this matchup on the back of a couple of victories, but they have underwhelmed through the first three weeks.
The Longhorns made it all the way to the Cotton Bowl last season, eventually losing 28-14 to eventual national champions Ohio State in the playoff semi-final.
That meant expectations were high coming into the new season, but they started the 2025 campaign as they ended the 2024 season, losing to Ohio State, this time by a score of 14-7.
Texas bounced back from that loss a week later, but underwhelmed as they beat San Jose State 38-7.
Arch Manning and the offense again struggled last weekend, but they did come away with a 27-10 victory over UTEP.
Verdict
There is no doubting that Texas are the better team and they should win this matchup, but they have done little offensively this season to suggest they can cover such a number.
