The Volunteers opened with back-to-back non-conference wins, beating Syracuse 45-26 and East Tennessee State 72-17, only to drop their SEC opener at home to Georgia, 44-41.
They rebounded with a 56-24 win over UAB, and then get off the mark in conference action as they followed up a 41-34 win at Mississippi State with a 34-31 victory at home to Arkansas.
Tennessee failed to make it four-in-a-row, losing 37-20 at Alabama, only to rebound with a 56-34 victory in Kentucky.
The Volunteers then lost 33-27 at Oklahoma, before bouncing back with a 42-9 non-conference win over New Mexico State.
Florida Form
Florida enter their final SEC matchup of the season on a three-game losing skid that has dropped them to 3-7.
The Gators kicked off the campaign with a 55-0 shutout win over LIU, only to suffer a shock 18-16 defeat at home to South Florida a week later.
They then began their SEC schedule with a 20-10 defeat to LSU, before heading to Miami for a 26-7 non-conference defeat to the Hurricanes.
Florida finally stopped the rot with a 29-21 upset of Texas, and then responded to a 34-17 defeat at Texas A&M with a 23-21 victory at home to Mississippi State.
The Gators have not won since though, following up a 24-20 defeat to Georgia with road losses to Kentucky, 38-7, and Ole Miss, 34-24.
Verdict
Florida did show some life at Ole Miss last weekend, but they still lost that matchup by double digits.
This Tennessee offense is capable of hanging plenty of points on the Gators too, so we are backing the Volunteers to leave with the ‘W’.
