They edged #8 Oregon 36-33 in a massive showdown in October, before beating #24 USC 52-42, #13 Utah 35-28 and #10 Oregon State 22-20.
Washington then secured a place in the College Football Playoffs by beating #5 Oregon in the rematch in the Pac-12 Championship, 34-31.
The Huskies backed that up in the Sugar Bowl, downing #3 Texas 37-31 to set up this meeting with Michigan.

Michigan have also won all 14 of their games this season, winning the Big Ten Championship and the Rose Bowl along the way.
The Wolverines started the season without suspended head coach Jim Harbaugh, and after he returned they went on a dominant run in conference play.
Their playoff quest appeared to suffer a setback when Harbaugh was suspended for a second time prior to the game at #9 Penn State, but they responded by downing the Nittany Lions, 24-15.
Despite his absence Michigan then beating bitter rivals, #2 Ohio State, 30-24 to seal a trip to the Big Ten Championship.
Harbaugh returned to lead the Wolverines to a 26-0 shutout of #18 Iowa, and they then clinched a place in the National Championship by beating #5 Alabama, 27-20, in the Rose Bowl.
Verdict
Michigan are unsurprisingly the favorites for this clash, but Washington are loaded with value.
Penix Jr is the best player on the field, ably assisted by a talented receiving corps, and they offer plenty of appeal as an underdog.
