Atlanta make the trip to California on the back of an impressive victory that improved their record to 3-2.
The Falcons kicked off the season at home, but failed to make the most of it as they were beaten 23-20 by Tampa Bay.
They rebounded on the road a week later, upsetting Minnesota 22-6, only to make an immediate return to losing ways as they were shut out in a 30-0 defeat in Carolina.
Atlanta responded swiftly though, beating Washington 34-27 to enter the bye week at .500.
The Falcons then made it back-to-back wins last weekend, as they returned from the bye with a 24-14 upset of Buffalo on Monday Night Football.
San Francisco 49ers Form
San Francisco return home looking to rebound from a defeat in Tampa that dropped their record to 4-2.
The 49ers opened with back-to-back road games, but made a successful start as they won 17-13 in Seattle and 26-21 in New Orleans.
They then made it three-in-a-row in their home opener, as they downed division rivals Arizona, 16-15.
San Francisco’s perfect start was ended by a 26-21 loss in Jacksonville, but they rallied a week later to beat the Los Angeles Rams in overtime on the road, 26-23.
However, the 49ers were unable to back that up last Sunday, as they fell to a 30-19 defeat at the Buccaneers.
Verdict
Atlanta pulled off a big upset last Monday, but we expect San Francisco to bring them back down to Earth here.
The 49ers welcome back some significant pieces on offense, and that can help cover for a short-handed defense that just lost another key player.
