Atlanta remain in the hunt to win the NFC South thanks to back-to-back victories over the past couple of weeks.
The Falcons dropped a few games early on, but a 6-3 record in early November put them right in the postseason race in the NFC South.
They were unable to maintain that good form though, as a four-game losing skid derailed the quest to make the playoffs.
Atlanta lost 20-17 in New Orleans, 38-6 in Denver, 17-13 at home to the Los Angeles Chargers and 42-21 in Minnesota, before finally stopping the rot with a 15-9 win in Las Vegas.
Kirk Cousins was benched despite that victory, and in his first game as starter rookie Michael Penix Jr led the Falcons to a 34-7 win over the New York Giants.
Washington Commanders Form
Washington still have a slight chance of winning the NFC East thanks to last weekend's win over rivals Philadelphia.
The Commanders rebounded from an opening-day defeat with a run of seven wins in eight games to put themselves in a race with the Eagles for the division crown.
They cooled off in November though, as they sandwiched a 26-18 defeat in Philadelphia with home losses to both Pittsburgh, 28-27, and Dallas, 34-26.
Washington rallied at the start of December though, backing up a 42-19 blowout of Tennessee with a 20-19 victory in New Orleans.
The Commanders then made it three-in-a-row last weekend as they snatched a 36-33 win over the Eagles.
Verdict
Washington have got their postseason push back on track and Jayden Daniels continues to deliver in crucial moments.
Atlanta have not fared well as a betting underdog, so we expect the Commanders to take this.
