Johnson ended his stint with the Lions at the end of last season, when he agreed to take on the Bears job.
He inherited a team that finished 5-12 last season and went on a 10-game losing run before finally ending that skid on the final play of the campaign, winning 24-22 in Green Bay.
Chicago repeatedly threw away leads during 2024, and that trend continued in Johnson’s debut on Monday night.
The Bears blew a double digit lead and gave up 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter as they lost 27-24 to division rivals Minnesota.

Detroit go into their home opener looking to rebound from last weekend’s rough road defeat in Green Bay.
