The Bears made a miserable start to the season as they lost 27-24 to Minnesota and 52-31 at Detroit, but they have responded to that early adversity with a great run of form.
They got off the mark with a 31-14 win over Dallas, and backed that up by winning 25-24 at both Las Vegas and Washington, before downing New Orleans at home, 26-14.
Chicago’s run was halted by a 30-16 defeat in Baltimore, but they rebounded from that we three straight last-gasp wins as they beat Cincinnati 47-42, New York Giants 24-20 and Minnesota 19-17.
The Bears then made it four-in-a-row last weekend as they overcame a host of injuries to beat Pittsburgh 31-28.
Philadelphia Eagles Form
Philadelphia enter this matchup having surrendered a 21-point lead at Dallas to see their recent four-game run come to an end.
The Eagles raced out of the blocks as they won their first four games of the season, starting with a 24-20 win over division rivals Dallas.
They then beat Kansas City 20-17, the Los Angeles Rams 33-26 and Tampa Bay 31-25, before cooling off in the first half of October as they lost 21-17 to Denver and 34-17 at the New York Giants.
Philadelphia rallied though, sparking a four-game win streak with a 28-22 win at Minnesota, which was followed by victories over the New York Giants, 38-20, Green Bay, 10-7, and Detroit, 16-9.
The Eagles failed to make it five-in-a-row however, as they collapsed in the second half to lose 24-21 at Dallas last Sunday.
Verdict
Philadelphia have had their letdowns, but they are a championship calibre team and strong at home, so we expect an Eagles win here.
However, covering the spread could be an issue for them – they have rarely covered this big of a number, while the Bears are in fine form and have been a very reliable spread bet due to their knack for close games.
