The Packers opened the season with home wins over Detroit, 27-13, and Washington, 27-18, only to go cold before the bye as they lost 13-10 at Cleveland and tied 40-40 at Dallas.
They got back to winning ways after the bye as they downed Cincinnati 27-18 at home, and they backed that up on the road as they downed Arizona 27-23 and Pittsburgh 35-25.
Green Bay’s run was halted by a couple of home defeats, as they lost 16-13 to Carolina and 10-7 to Philadelphia.
The Packers rebounded on the road though, beating the New York Giants 27-20, and they followed that up last weekend as they beat Minnesota 23-6 at home.
Detroit Lions Form
Detroit enter this matchup on the back of a win, but having been in inconsistent form since they bye to sit 7-4.
The Lions kicked off the campaign with a 27-13 loss at Green Bay, but responded in emphatic fashion as they blew out Chicago at home, 52-21.
They backed that up with wins over Baltimore, 38-30, Cleveland, 34-10, and Cincinnati, 37-24, before seeing that run end with a 30-17 defeat at Kansas City.
Detroit rebounded to go into the bye on the back of a 24-9 win over Tampa Bay, only to return to action with a surprise 27-24 home defeat to Minnesota.
Since then then Lions have sandwiched a 16-9 defeat at Philadelphia with a 44-22 victory over Washington and a 34-27 overtime win against the New York Giants.
Verdict
Both teams know that a victory here will be huge, and we are leaning towards the Lions.
Detroit’s offense has been more consistent and the defense is capable of causing problems for a Packers offense that is dealing with injuries to key pieces.
