Kansas City enter this matchup having already secured a place in the playoffs, and knowing that a 15th win of the season will ensure home field advantage for the postseason.
It may not have always been convincing, but the Chiefs did start their quest for a record-setting third Super Bowl success with a nine-game win streak.
That run was halted by a 30-21 defeat in Buffalo, but they rebounded immediately with another winning run that secured postseason football.
Kansas City got back to winning ways with a 30-27 victory in Carolina, and followed that up with home wins over Las Vegas, 19-17, and the Los Angeles Chargers, 19-17.
The Chiefs then beat Cleveland 21-7 on the road, before returning home to down Houston, 29-17, last weekend.
Pittsburgh Steelers Form
Pittsburgh are locked in a two-way fight with Baltimore to win the AFC North, having lost to the Ravens last weekend to fall to 10-5.
The Steelers opened with a three-game win streak, only to then cool off with back-to-back defeats, losing 27-24 in Indianapolis and 20-17 at home to Dallas.
They responded strongly to that early setback though, reeling off five consecutive wins starting with the 32-13 victory in Las Vegas.
Pittsburgh’s run was halted by a surprise 24-19 defeat to division rivals Cleveland, but they bounced back with two big AFC North successes, beating Cincinnati 44-38 and Cleveland 27-14.
The Steelers failed to make it three-in-a-row, losing 27-13 in Philadelphia, and that became back-to-back defeats last weekend as they lost a huge showdown with division rivals, Baltimore, 34-17.
Verdict
Kansas City are on the brink of making the AFC road to the Super Bowl go through Arrowhead.
