The Patriots looked solid but unspectacular on both sides of the football in Week 1, while the Dolphins were a total mess and could soon move on from head coach Mike McDaniel.

New England head to Miami for this division clash still seeking a first win of the 2025 campaign.
The Patriots endured a couple of six-game losing skids last season, resulting in a 4-13 record that cost Jerod Mayo his job as head coach.
They wasted little time in naming his replacement, bringing back Mike Vrabel who won three Super Bowls as a player with the franchise.
Vrabel’s debut in the top job ended in defeat though, as New England were beaten 20-13 by Las Vegas in opening weekend.
Quarterback Drake Maye threw for 287 yards, one touchdown and one interception, while the defense racked up four sacks and an interception against the Raiders.

Miami go into their home opener on the back of a disastrous defeat to start the season that has heaped even more pressure on head coach Mike McDaniel.
McDaniel entered the 2025 campaign on a hot seat following an 8-9 campaign in 2024 that saw them miss out on the playoffs.
His position has not become any better either, after last Sunday’s blowout loss in Indianapolis.
Miami managed just one touchdown, in garbage time, as they were beaten 33-8 by the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw for just 114 yards and was picked off twice in the loss, while the defense was picked apart by Colts counterpart Daniel Jones.

It feels like it is only a matter of time before Mike McDaniel is relieved of his duties in Miami.
