They then won their home opener against Arizona, 16-15, before finally suffering their first defeat of the season in the form of a 26-21 loss to Jacksonville.
San Francisco rebounded with a 26-23 overtime victory at the Los Angeles Rams, but failed to follow that up as they lost 30-19 at Tampa Bay.
The 49ers did bounce back quickly from the loss though, as they beat Atlanta 20-10 at home last time out.
Houston Texans Form
Houston enter this matchup having seen their recent resurgence end with a defeat in Seattle.
The Texans kicked off the campaign with a 14-9 defeat at the Los Angeles Rams, and then dropped their home opener against Tampa Bay, 20-19.
Their losing start then reached three games with a 17-10 defeat in Jacksonville, before they finally got off the mark with a 26-0 shutout of Tennessee.
Houston backed that up with a 44-10 blowout of the Ravens in Baltimore before the bye week, but they failed to follow that up when they returned to action last Monday night.
The Texans visited Seattle for Monday Night Football and suffered a 27-19 defeat at the hands of the Seahawks.

San Francisco remain short-handed, but they continue to keep themselves firmly in the playoff race.
They have won a bunch of games on the road too, so we like their chances against a Houston team coming off another loss and playing on a short week.
