San Francisco 49ers Form
San Francisco head to Seattle having ousted defending champions Philadelphia in the Wild Card round, making it seven wins in eight games.
The 49ers kicked off the campaign with a three-game win streak, but an inconsistent run over the next several weeks left them 6-4 in early November.
The found some form after that though, and went into the bye week having sandwiched a 20-9 win at home to Carolina with road successes at Arizona, 41-22, and Cleveland, 26-8.
San Francisco picked up from where they left off when they returned to action, extending their win streak to six games as they beat Tennessee 37-24 at home, Indianapolis 48-27 on the road and Chicago 42-38 at home.
That set up a huge showdown with Seattle on the final day of the regular season, when a 13-3 defeat cost the 49ers the number one seed in the NFC and a first-round bye.
They rebounded in the Wild Card round though, as they travelled to Philadelphia to down the Eagles, 23-19.
Seattle Seahawks Form
Seattle ended the regular season on a seven-game win streak, securing the number one seed in the NFC and a Wild Card bye.
The Seahawks opened the season with a 17-13 defeat at home to division rivals San Francisco, but they rallied over the next several weeks to enter they bye week at 5-2.
They then returned to action with back-to-back wins, before suffering their final defeat of the regular season as they fell 21-19 at the Los Angeles Rams.
Seattle rebounded immediately with a 30-24 success at Tennessee, and that proved to be the start of a seven-game surge to end the regular season.
The Seahawks shut out Minnesota at home, 26-0, and followed up a 37-9 victory in Atlanta with home wins over Indianapolis, 18-16, and the Rams, 38-37 in overtime.
They then closed out the regular season with back-to-back road games, beating Carolina 27-10 and San Francisco 13-3.
Verdict
The Seahawks took the Week 18 meeting and we are expecting more of the same here.
San Francisco have done a tremendous job overcoming injuries this season, but losing George Kittle is a huge blow and Seattle were able to shut down the Niners a fortnight ago.
