The Buccaneers opened with back-to-back games on the road, but took care of business as they won 23-20 in Atlanta and 20-19 at Atlanta.
They then beat the New York Jets 29-27 in their home opener, before finally seeing their perfect start end with a 31-25 loss to defending Super Bowl champions Philadelphia.
Tampa Bay have not lost since though, stringing together back-to-back wins to improve to 5-1.
The Buccaneers rebounded on the road with a 38-35 win over Seattle, and then downed San Francisco at home, 30-19.
Detroit Lions Form
Detroit enter this matchup on the back of a loss, but having made a solid start to the season with four wins in six games.
The Lions kicked things off with a disappointing defeat at division rivals Green Bay, but they responded strongly to that 27-13 loss, reeling off four consecutive victories.
They got off the mark in their home opener, blowing out Chicago 52-21, and backed that up on the road as they beat Baltimore 38-30.
Detroit then downed Cleveland at home, 34-10, before making it four-in-a-row with a 37-24 success in Cincinnati.
However, the Lions failed to keep that run going last weekend, as they were beaten 30-17 at Kansas City.
Verdict
Baker Mayfield and the Bucs’ grittiness will always make them an appealing pick with the points.
They have routinely covered as an underdog over the past 12 months, and even won in Detroit last season, so give us Baker and almost a touchdown in this one.
