Washington head out on the road having rebounded from their first defeat of the season with last Sunday’s victory over Las Vegas.
The Commanders made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game a year ago, only to be blown out by eventual Super Bowl winners Philadelphia.
They came into the new campaign with high expectations and got off to a solid start as they beat division rivals, the New York Giants, 21-6 at home.
Washington failed to follow that up though as they were beaten 27-17 in Green Bay, and to make matters worse they lost starting quarterback Jayden Daniels to a wrist injury.
However, despite Daniels’ absence they got back to winning ways last weekend, beating Las Vegas 41-24.
Atlanta Falcons Form
Atlanta enter this matchup in need of a morale-boosting performance, having failed to register a single point as they fell to 1-2 last weekend.
The Falcons kicked off the campaign at home but failed to make the most of it as they were beaten 23-20 by division rivals Tampa Bay.
They rebounded a week later though, and they did it in surprising fashion as they travelled to Minnesota to take down the Vikings, 22-6.
However, Atlanta failed to make it back-to-back wins last weekend as they offense stalled badly in Carolina.
The Falcons failed to put a single point on the board as they suffered a 30-0 defeat at the hands of the Panthers.
Verdict
Washington would love to have Daniels back, but proved they can survive with Marcus Mariota standing in.
Atlanta, on the other hand, have growing concerns at quarterback with Penix Jr struggling, so we expect the Commanders to deliver on Sunday.
