Florida go into this series having made straightforward work of Tampa Bay with a 4-1 series victory in the first round.
The Panthers won the Atlantic Division, having compiled a 52-24-6 record, and they stormed to 3-0 lead in the first-round series with Tampa.
They opened up the series at home and recorded back-to-back 3-2 wins over the Lightning, winning one game in regulation and one in overtime.
Florida then gave themselves an opportunity to clinch on the road as they won 5-3 in Game 3, but they failed to take that chance as they were beaten 6-3.
The Panthers rebounded in emphatic fashion though, as they stormed to a 6-1 win at home to book their place in the second round.
