The Flames endured a rough run of form between the second half of March and the first week of April, losing eight times in a nine-game spell.
That sequence started with a five-game losing skid that was broken by a 4-2 win over Los Angeles, and they then failed to build on that win as they lost the next three.
Calgary avoided a four-game losing run thanks to a 3-2 overtime win in San Jose, only to lose 4-1 in Los Angeles a couple of days later.
The Flames rebounded quickly from that though, backing up a 6-3 win in Anaheim with a 6-5 victory at home to Arizona.
Vancouver Canucks Form
Vancouver are closing in on the Pacific Division crown, having compiled a 49-22-9 record so far this season.
The Canucks may be top of the standings, but they have allowed Edmonton to stay in the hunt by losing five of their last nine games.
They lost 3-2 to Los Angeles and 3-1 to Dallas, before getting back to winning ways with a 3-2 victory over Anaheim.
Vancouver failed to build on that win as they lost 6-3 in Vegas, but they did hit back with a 2-1 win in Arizona.
The Canucks then bounced back from a 6-3 defeat in Los Angeles with a 4-3 win over a Vegas, and responded to a 4-3 overtime loss to Arizona with a big 3-1 victory in Edmonton.
Verdict
Vancouver can wrap up the division crown against a Calgary team who have largely struggled on the road in recent weeks.
