They cooled off in late October as they lost three times in a four-game spell, but their response to that dip was strong.
Carolina beat the New York Rangers 3-0 on the road, and backed that up by beating Minnesota 4-3 and Buffalo 6-3 at home, and Toronto 5-4 on the road.
The Hurricanes’ run was ended by a 4-1 home loss to Washington, and they then failed to back up a 4-3 overtime win against Vancouver as they lost 4-3 in overtime to Edmonton.
Boston Bruins Form
Boston enter this matchup on a good run of form, having won eight of their previous nine games to reach 12-8.
The Bruins opened the season with a three-game win streak, only for their form to collapse after that as they lost six straight.
They stopped the rot with a 3-2 win over Colorado, and then responded to a 7-2 blowout defeat in Ottawa with a seven-game win streak.

The Bruins then won back-to-back meetings with Toronto, 5-3 on the road and 5-3 at home, before replying to a 5-3 defeat in Ottawa with a 3-2 success at Montreal.
Verdict
Carolina arrive as the favourite, but Boston offer plenty of appeal with the plus-money.
They have been in good form overall recently, and they have now won six straight at home too, which includes a victory over the Hurricanes at the start of the month.
