Columbus head to New York looking to build on Sunday’s win over the Rangers and develop some consistency.
The Blue Jackets have not won back-to-back games since late November and have gone 3-4 since the start of February.
They returned from the All-Star break with a 4-2 defeat to Tampa Bay, and then went out on the road to lose 6-3 in Ottawa.
Columbus avoided a third straight loss by winning 4-3 in San Jose, but failed to back that up as they lost 5-1 to Los Angeles before winning 7-4 in Anaheim.
The Blue Jackets then returned home to lose 2-1 to Buffalo, but did hit back immediately by beating New York 4-2 earlier this week.
New York Rangers Form
New York return home looking to avenge a loss to Columbus that ended their 10-game win streak.
The Rangers stumbled in January as they lost four times in a five-game spell, but their response was their best run of the season so far, starting with a 7-2 win in Ottawa.
They then beat Colorado 2-1 in overtime and Tampa Bay 3-1 at home, and backed that up with a 4-3 in overtime in Chicago and home wins against Calgary, 2-0, and Montreal, 7-4.
New York then beat the New York Islanders 6-5 in overtime in the Stadium Series, before downing Dallas 3-1 at home and both New Jersey and Philadelphia on the road, 5-1 and 2-1 respectively.
The Rangers failed to make it 11-in-a-row though, as they were beaten 4-2 in Columbus on Sunday.
Verdict
Revenge is a dish best served cold, and New York are backed to deliver it on the ice.
They have been strong at home this season, while the Blue Jackets have suffered from 'travel sickness'.
