Los Angeles have rebounded from a slow start to win seven of their last nine games and improve to 7-2-2.
The Kings opened the season with back-to-back home games and lost both of them, falling to a 5-2 defeat to Colorado before losing via a shootout against Carolina.
They steadied the ship on the road though, winning 5-1 in Winnipeg and 7-3 in Minnesota, only to suffer a third home defeat when they hosted Boston, losing 4-2.
Los Angeles finally got off the mark at home with a 6-3 victory over Arizona and they then backed that up with a 5-4 road win against the Coyotes.
The Kings failed to make it three-in-a-row as they lost to Vegas via a shootout, but they responded impressive with a 4-1 win in Toronto, a 3-2 victory at Ottawa and a 5-0 success in Philadelphia.
Vegas Golden Knights Form
Vegas come into this matchup on the back of a loss, but they have made an outstanding start to the season with 11 wins in 13 games.
The defending champion Golden Knights opened up with a seven-game win streak, before suffering a shock 4-3 overtime defeat when they hosted Chicago.
They bounced back against Wednesday’s opponents though, beating Los Angeles via a shootout on the road.
Vegas then backed that up with another shootout victory, this time at home to Montreal, and took their win streak to four games when they beat Winnipeg 5-2 and Colorado 7-0.
The Golden Knights failed to make it five consecutive victories though, as they were beaten 4-2 when they visited Anaheim on Sunday.
Verdict
Vegas have made an excellent start to the season and have been stacking up wins at home, so it is tough to go against them right now.
