Minnesota Wild Form
Minnesota head to Vegas on a bad run of form, having now tasted defeat in six of their last nine games.
The Wild’s slump started with a 6-0 defeat in Los Angeles, which was followed by a 5-4 overtime loss at home to St Louis.
They avoided a third straight defeat by beating San Jose 3-1, and then responded to a 2-1 overtime time loss to Vegas by beating Ottawa 3-2.
Minnesota failed to build on that win though and lost their next two games at home, falling 5-2 to Colorado and 4-2 to Winnipeg.
The Wild then started this road trip with a 4-0 win in Chicago, only to lose 5-2 when they visited Colorado.
Vegas Golden Knights Form
Vegas return home after a rough road trip that saw them lose all three of their games on their travels.
The Golden Knights were in hot form prior to those defeats, winning six times during a seven-game spell.
They started this sequence with home wins against Seattle (3-1) and Columbus (4-2), before heading to St Louis to beat the Blues 2-1 in overtime.
Vegas then rebounded from a 5-4 overtime defeat in Nashville by winning 4-1 in Winnipeg, 2-1 in overtime in Minnesota, and 6-3 at home to Vancouver.
The Golden Knights’ form nose-dived when they went back out on the road though, as they lost 7-4 in Arizona, 4-3 at Vancouver and 5-1 in Edmonton.
Verdict
Vegas are back home after a rough road trip and we expect them to bounce back - they do their best work on the home ice.
