The Devils came into the season as a leading contender to win it all and make a winning start with a 4-3 victory over Detroit.
They stumbled over the next two games though, losing a shootout against Arizona before suffering a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Florida.
New Jersey snapped that losing run with a 5-4 overtime win at the New York Islanders, and backed it up with a 5-2 success in Montreal.
The Devils then bounced back from a 6-4 loss to Washington with a 5-4 victory over Buffalo and a 4-3 and 5-3 wins against Minnesota.
St Louis Blues Form
St Louis enter this matchup on the back of a couple of defeats that have left them with a 3-4-1 record.
The Blues opened with a shootout defeat in Dallas, but bounced back in their home opener to beat Seattle via a shootout.
They failed to follow that up as they then lost 6-2 to Arizona, only to respond with a 4-2 victory against Pittsburgh before heading out on the road.
St Louis started a four-game road trip with a 4-2 defeat in Winnipeg, and although they then won 3-0 in Calgary, they were once again unable to spark a good run.
The Blues were beaten 5-0 in Vancouver last Friday night, before suffering a 4-1 defeat in Colorado on Wednesday.
Verdict
New Jersey are in good form and have been excellent on the road so far, so we expect a Devils victory here.
