Ottawa head back out on the road on the back of a couple of defeats that have left them 8-9.
The Senators struggled for wins during the first several weeks of the season, but rallied with a three-game win streak in mid-November.
They bounced back from a 5-2 defeat at home to Vancouver with a 4-1 victory over Calgary, sparking the improved run.
Ottawa backed that up with a 5-4 overtime win against Detroit, before edging Minnesota via a shootout.
The Senators could not keep that run going and saw it end with a 5-3 defeat to the New York Islanders, which was followed by a 5-0 shutout loss to Florida.
Columbus Blue Jackets Form
Columbus enter this game on the back of a loss, but they have enjoyed some improved form recently to sit 7-13-4.
The Blue Jackets lost nine-straight games in November, but finally snapped that losing sequence when they beat Chicago 7-3 at home.
They then went out on the road and were able to see off New Jersey in a closely-contested game, 2-1.
Columbus failed to make it three-in-a-row as they moved on to Carolina to lose 3-2, only to rebound when they returned home to beat Boston 5-2.
The Blue Jackets were unable to back up that victory though, as they were beaten 4-2 when they hosted Montreal.
