San Jose went into Thursday night’s game against Edmonton having won back-to-back games to improve to 2-10.
The Sharks opened up at home to defending champions Vegas and fell to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Golden Knights.
They then suffered three further home defeats, losing a shootout against Colorado, 6-3 to Carolina and 3-1 to Boston, before finally heading out on the road of the first time.
A change of scenery did not help San Jose either as they were beaten 5-1 in Nashville, 3-1 at Florida, 6-0 in Tampa, 3-0 at Carolina and 3-1 in Washington.
The Sharks then suffered humiliating home defeats to Vancouver, 10-1, and Pittsburgh, 10-2, before finally snapping their skid with a 2-1 win over Philadelphia and 3-2 victory against Edmonton.
Vegas Golden Knights Form
Vegas come into this matchup looking to get back on track after a couple of defeats dropped them to 11-2-1.
The Golden Knights began their defence of the Stanley Cup with a seven-game win streak, before finally losing in surprise fashion to Chicago, 4-3 in overtime.
They bounced back from that loss with shootout successes against Los Angeles and Montreal, before beating Winnipeg 5-2 and Colorado 7-0 at home.
Vegas failed to make it five-in-a-row though, as they visited Anaheim and suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of the Ducks.
That became back-to-back defeats for the Golden Knights when they returned home and lost 4-1 to Los Angeles on Wednesday night.
Verdict
Vegas are the better team, have beaten San Jose comfortably once already, and they are backed to halt the Sharks' recent resurgence.
