They then beat their opponents in Sunday’s final, the Czech Republic, via a shootout, before shutting out Great Britain and Denmark in 3-0 and 8-0 victories.
Switzerland then wrapped up the group stage by bouncing back from a 3-2 loss to Canada with a 3-1 win against Finland.
The Swiss downed Germany 3-1 in the quarter-finals, and booked their place in Sunday’s final with a surprise shootout win over Canada in the semis.
Czech Republic Form
Czech Republic lost just two games as they made their way to the final of the Ice Hockey World Championship.
The Czechs sprang an early upset as the beat Finland 1-0 on opening night, and they backed that up with a 6-3 success against Norway.
Their perfect start was ended by a shootout loss to Sunday’s opponents, Switzerland, but they rebounded quickly to beat Denmark 7-4, Austria 4-0 and Great Britain 4-1.
The Czech Republic then wrapped up the group stage with a 4-3 overtime defeat to Canada, but they have bounced back impressively in the knockouts.
The Czechs edged the USA 1-0 in the quarter-finals, and then sealed their place in the final with a 7-3 upset of Sweden in the semi-finals.

Both teams have pulled off upsets to get here, and we are predicting one more in the final.
