The Lightning struggled for form during the first couple of weeks in November, winning just twice in a seven-game spell.
A 4-2 victory over the Blackhawks in Chicago has helped them turn things round in recent times though.
Tampa Bay followed up that victory when they returned home, beating Edmonton 6-4 before edging Boston in overtime, 5-4.
The Lightning failed to make it four-in-a-row as they lost 3-2 in overtime to Winnipeg, but they did bounce back immediately by thrashing Carolina 8-2 on the road.
Colorado Avalanche Form
Colorado enter this game on an excellent run of form, winning six of the last seven to improve to 14-6.
The Avalanche snapped a two-game losing sequence with a 5-1 victory on the road in Seattle, and they backed that up with an 8-2 home blowout of Anaheim.
They made it three-in-a-row when they went back out on the road to win 6-3 in Dallas, only to then suffered a 4-3 defeat when they moved on to Nashville.
Colorado issued an immediate response to that loss however, as they continued their good home form with a 5-2 victory over Vancouver 5-2.
The Avalanche then travelled to Minnesota to beat the Wild 3-2, before returning home to down Calgary 3-1 and extend their winning run to three games.
Verdict
Both teams are in good form heading into this, but Colorado’s excellent form at home gives them the edge in this one.
