Toronto rebounded with shootout wins at home to Florida and Seattle, only to then lose 4-3 in overtime to Boston.
The Maple Leafs bounced back quickly though, winning 4-3 in Ottawa before returning home to shut out Nashville in a 4-0 win.
New York Rangers Form
New York come into this game on the back of their seventh win in their last 10 games, which has improved their record to 19-6-1.
The Rangers started this run on the road as they beat Pittsburgh 1-0 and Philadelphia 3-1, before returning home to down Boston 7-4.
They then rebounded from a 5-1 loss to Buffalo by sandwiching a 4-3 win in Nashville with home wins against Detroit, 3-2, and San Jose, 6-5.
New York failed to keep that run going though as they lost back-to-back road games, falling to a 6-4 defeat in Ottawa and a 4-0 defeat in Washington.
The Rangers bounced back over the weekend though, beating Los Angeles 4-1 at home.
