The Mammoth lost four of their first five games of the month, and then failed to build on a 5-2 win over Buffalo as they lost four straight.
They suffered three consecutive overtime defeats, falling 3-2 to the New York Islanders, 3-2 at Anaheim and 3-2 at San Jose, and were then beaten 4-1 in regulation by Vegas.
Utah finally stopped the rot with a 3-2 win over the New York Rangers, and then backed that up by beating Vegas 5-1, but they have not won since.
The Mammoth lost 4-3 at home to Montreal, before heading out on the road to lose 4-3 in Dallas and 1-0 at St Louis.
San Jose Sharks Form
San Jose enter this matchup on an inconsistent run of form, having lost five of their previous nine games.
The Sharks won four straight in early November, only to then drop back-to-back road games as they fell 2-0 in Calgary and 4-0 at Seattle.
They rallied at home as they beat Utah 3-2 in overtime and Los Angeles 4-3 via a shootout, but they failed to make it three-in-a-row as they lost 3-2 to Ottawa.
San Jose responded with a 3-1 victory over Boston, only to then suffer a 6-0 shutout defeat in Colorado.
The Sharks again bounced back quickly from a loss, beating Vancouver 3-2 at home, but they were again unable to back up a win as they lost 4-3 in Vegas.
Verdict
San Jose are the team in better form and already boast one win over the Mammoth this season.
Couple that with Utah’s recent miserable road form and the Sharks make for an appealing pick with the plus-money.
