The Sabres began this sequence with four consecutive road wins, downing Nashville 5-3, Montreal 4-2, New York Islanders 5-0 and Toronto 7-4.
They then beat Los Angeles 4-1 at home, before answering a 4-2 defeat to Montreal with a 5-3 success when they visited Florida.
Buffalo dropped the next two as they fell 4-3 to Tampa Bay and 5-2 to Pittsburgh, but they have not tasted defeat since then.
The Sabres rebounded on the road to beat New Jersey 2-1, Florida 3-2 and Tampa Bay 6-2, before heading back home to make it four-in-a-row with a 3-2 victory over Vegas.
Pittsburgh Penguins Form
Pittsburgh enter this matchup having seen their form dip since the start of February, with four defeats coming in their last seven games.
The Penguins enjoyed a six-game win streak at the end of January, only to begin last month with a 3-2 defeat to Ottawa at home.
They then fell 5-4 in overtime at the New York Islanders, but rebounded with a 5-2 win in Buffalo before returning home to down New Jersey 4-1.
Pittsburgh failed to make it three-in-a-row as they lost 3-2 to the New York Rangers – although they did respond immediately with a 5-0 shutout of Vegas at home.
The Penguins were unable to follow it up though, as they were beaten 2-1 in Boston last time out.
Verdict
Pittsburgh have had Buffalo’s number in recent times, but the Sabres offer more reasons for optimism here.
