Utah Mammoth Form
Utah head to Tampa on one of their best runs of the season, having won each of their previous five games and nine of the 11 they have played in 2026 so far.
The Mammoth began the year with a 7-2 win at the New York Islanders, and then rebounded from a 4-1 defeat in New Jersey with a 3-2 overtime success at the New York Rangers.
They backed that up with home wins over Ottawa, 3-1, and St Louis, 4-2, before responding to a 3-2 overtime loss to Columbus with this five-game surge.
Utah blew out Toronto 6-1, and backed that up with further home victories against Dallas, 2-1, Seattle, 6-3, and Philadelphia, 5-4 in overtime.
The Mammoth then made it five-in-a-row over the weekend as they kicked off this road trip with a 5-2 win in Nashville.
Tampa Bay Lightning Form
Tampa Bay enter his matchup on the back of a loss but in tremendous form, having won 14 of their previous 16 games.
The Lightning ended 2025 on a five-game win streak and kept that red-hot run going in the early stages of 2026 to make it 11-in-a-row.
They beat Los Angeles 5-3 and San Jose 7-3 on the road, before following up a 4-2 victory at home to Colorado with road successes at Philadelphia, 7-2 and 5-1, and Pittsburgh, 2-1.
Tampa Bay’s run was finally ended by a 3-2 defeat in St Louis, but they responded immediately with 4-1 wins over Dallas on the road and San Jose at home.
The Lightning made it three-in-a-row with a 2-1 success in Chicago, only to then lose 8-5 in Columbus last time out.
Verdict
Utah are on a roll and have plenty of momentum, but Tampa Bay are on a different level.
While they may have lost at the weekend, the Lightning are in great form and continue to stack up wins at home, so we expect the hosts to respond here.
