They steadied the ship with a 4-1 win against Nashville however, and built on that with a 5-1 victory over the New York Rangers.
Vegas then made it three-in-a-row with a 3-2 win in Pittsburgh, only to see their winning run end when they started this road trip with a 6-5 overtime defeat in New Jersey.
The Golden Knights bounced back quickly though, beating the New York Islanders 3-2 on Tuesday night.

New York come into this matchup in terrible form, having now lost eight of their first 12 games in 2024.
The Rangers opened the year with a 6-1 blowout loss to Carolina, and although they bounced back to beat Chicago 4-1, they failed to build on that win and lost their next four games.
They dropped a shootout to Montreal before losing 6-3 to Vancouver, 5-2 to St Louis and 3-2 in Washington, before finally stopping the rot with a 2-1 win over the Capitals.
New York backed that up with a 5-2 victory over Seattle, only to then head out on the road and lose 5-1 to Vegas and 2-1 to Los Angeles.
The Rangers avoided a third straight loss as they beat Anaheim 5-2, but their joy was short-lived as they then lost 3-2 to San Jose in overtime.
Verdict
Vegas are the better team in better form, so they make for appealing underdogs at Madison Square Garden.
